This reel has been comfortable to fish for longer stretches because it stays light in hand. Retrieval feels smooth and it pairs nicely with a lighter rod for everyday use.
Really glad to hear that. Keeping the reel comfortable and easy to fish all day was one of the main goals with this model.
I've been using this reel on a lighter setup for casual weekend fishing and it has done a really nice job. It retrieves smoothly, casts without much effort, and stays comfortable to fish with for a few hours at a time. It is simple, functional, and easy to appreciate for everyday use.
Thanks for the honest feedback. Hope it keeps delivering for you.
Lightweight and smooth. Bail engages cleanly and casting feels consistent.
Consistent bail engagement is something we test carefully. Thanks for noticing.
I've been using this lightweight spinning reel for a few trips now, and overall I'm pretty happy with it. It's very light in hand and casts nicely, especially when doing long sessions or switching between spots. The retrieve feels smooth and the reel does exactly what I need for general freshwater fishing.
My only small issue is that it's a bit basic in terms of features, the handle grip could feel a bit more substantial, and there's not much flair or extra bells and whistles. But for what it is and the price point, it's a solid choice that gets the job done. If you want a dependable lightweight reel without paying more, this is worth considering.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on the Lightweight Spinning Fishing Reel! We're really glad to hear that you're enjoying its smooth performance and lightweight feel during your fishing trips.
You're right that this model focuses on simplicity and everyday functionality, keeping it light and reliable without adding too many extra features. Your insight about the handle grip and feel is very helpful and something we'll keep in mind for future design updates.
If you ever want suggestions on line setups, rod pairings, or other reel options that offer additional features, feel free to reach out anytime. Thanks again for choosing ReelUp, and tight lines on your next outing!
Bought the 5000 size and spooled it with 30 lb braid, and it held right around 250 yards with no problem. For a 5000, the reel feels impressively compact and lightweight. I spent a couple of hours casting 2-3 oz jigs and throwing a topwater for a while, and the reel performed flawlessly the entire time.
The retrieve is very smooth, the bail snaps back and closes perfectly on every cast, and it feels comfortable in the hand even after long sessions. The drag is strong and starts up smoothly with no hesitation. I did not hook into a fish on this trip, but based on how it performed, I have zero doubts about its ability. I will definitely be keeping this reel in my regular rotation.
Thank you so much for the detailed 5-star review and for putting the 5000 size to work right away with 30 lb braid and heavier jigs. It's great to hear that the reel felt compact and lightweight, and that the retrieve, bail action, and drag all performed smoothly during a long casting session.
Even without a fish on this trip, your feedback about how it casts and feels in the hand is incredibly valuable. Once you do hook into something with it, we'd love to hear how it handles under load.
Thanks again for choosing ReelUp and for keeping this reel in your regular rotation. Tight lines on your next outing!
