The Aries II feels smoother than I expected for a lighter spinning reel. I have only had a few trips with it so far, but the retrieve has been clean and the drag starts up nicely.

Tried this reel on a couple of quick trips and it has been very easy to like. The retrieve feels smooth, the reel stays balanced on the rod, and overall it has performed well for general fishing. No complaints so far and I would keep using it.
