I used the FB series on a heavier shore setup and it handled larger baits without feeling sloppy. It is not the smallest reel out there, but for distance casting and stronger fish it makes sense.
Fair feedback, Mason. This series is definitely built more around casting range and pulling power than compact size, so we are glad it suited your heavier shore setup.
After a few casts and a small adjustment, this reel started feeling really dialed in. The retrieve is smooth, casting is easy, and it handled fish around docks and cover without any trouble. It feels like a good reel for regular use once you get it set the way you like.
Thanks for giving the reel a try and sharing your thoughts.
Large but powerful. Drag stays consistent under pressure and build quality feels strong. After several trips in different conditions, including wind and current, it has continued to perform consistently. Line lay remains clean and I have not experienced unexpected drag surges or mechanical noise. It feels like a reel that was built with long-term use in mind rather than short-term flash.
Offshore performance is exactly what this model is built for. Glad it's delivering.
I picked up the 10K size for offshore and heavier surf work, and I couldn't be happier with it. The reel feels very solid in the hand with its full metal build, and the casting distance is impressive. I'm able to get my baits way out there with minimal effort.
The drag works great even under strong loads, and everything stays smooth during long fights. I've used it on several trips now, including strong current and bigger fish, and it has handled everything without hesitation. Even after rinsing off salt and sand, it still feels tight and quiet. For the quality, strength, and long-casting performance you get at this price point, this reel is a winner.
Thank you so much for your awesome review!
We are really glad to hear the FB Series reel has been performing well for you in both offshore and heavier surf situations. The long casting design and strong, smooth drag are exactly what this series was built for, so it's great to know it's living up to expectations out on the water.
Your note about the reel holding up after multiple trips and salt exposure really means a lot - durability is something we take seriously with this model. If you ever need setup tips, spare spools, or rod pairing suggestions, feel free to reach out anytime.
Thanks again for choosing ReelUp, and tight lines on your next adventure!
Purchased the 10K for offshore fishing. It is large for a 10K. Have been using it for a week and have had no issues bringing in multiple 35-60lb fish without issue. Will see how it holds up against heavier fish, but seems to be built really well. I also like being able to toggle the switch to let line out without opening the bail. Definitely happy with the purchase.
Thank you so much for the detailed feedback and for putting the 10K straight to work offshore. It's great to hear it has handled multiple 35-60 lb fish without any issues and that the size and build feel right for what you're targeting.
We're also glad you're enjoying the switch to let line out without opening the bail that's one of those small features that can make a big difference on the water.
If you ever run it into heavier fish or tougher conditions and have more thoughts to share, we'd love to hear how it holds up over time. In the meantime, thanks again for choosing ReelUp, and tight lines out there!
