This reel really surprised me in a good way. I picked up the 3000 size and first spooled it with 15 lb braid on a 6 ft 6 in rod for kayak fishing. At first, casting distance was just okay with that heavier braid, and I honestly expected a bit more.
I decided to re-spool with 10 lb braid to a 10 lb fluorocarbon leader, and that completely changed the game. The difference was night and day. This reel now casts incredibly far, runs super smooth, and stays very quiet on the retrieve. It instantly became my main setup.
Even casting into the wind with a small rooster tail, it still launches with ease, and with slightly larger finesse lures it goes even farther. The reel feels light in hand, balanced, and precise. After dialing in the right line setup, I am 100 percent impressed and very happy with this reel.
I've been using thie onel on a light rod for creek and pond fishing, and it has been a lot of fun. The reel feels very light in the hand, the retrieve is smooth, and the drag starts up nicely without any jerky feeling on lighter line. It's great for smaller bass, trout, and panfish.
The only downside is that because it's so ultralight, it doesn't feel as tank-like-as some of my heavier reels, so I probably wouldn't push it too hard on bigger fish. But for what it's made for finesse and ultralight setups - it does a very good job, especially for the price. Overall, I'm happy with it and would recommend it if you're looking for a light, smooth reel for smaller fish.
Absolute unit of a reel. Very loud clicker, super strong drag. Audible spool and star drag. Very easy to adjust. Some people are hesitant to try nwe brand products because of the price but I have bought multiple products and have not had one bad experience with them. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
I put the ReelUp HS X6 on a light spinning rod and it has been a very pleasant surprise. The reel feels solid in the hand but still light enough to cast all day. The retrieve is smooth right out of the box and the spool turns quietly with no grinding or wobble.
The drag is easy to fine tune and starts up smoothly, which is exactly what I want for lighter line. It also looks great in person - the finish on the spool and body has a clean metallic shine that has held up well so far. For the price I am very happy with this reel and would buy another size for a second setup.
I wanted a reel that could burn lures through the water as fast as possible, and this one absolutely delivers. The high gear ratio makes it super easy to cover water quickly, and the retrieve feels powerful and smooth the whole time.
I have been using it in fast mountain creeks, ripping spinners and small hard baits for trout, and the reel has handled it really well. It feels solid thanks to the full metal construction, the drag is strong and consistent, and the handle gives you plenty of control when a fish loads up in the current.
I originally tried it on a short ultralight rod, and even though the reel is a bit bigger than a typical creek setup, it still performed great. On a 7 ft rod or a slightly heavier setup, the balance would be perfect and this thing would be an absolute rocket for burning lures.
Overall, I am very happy with this reel. It is fast, smooth, and feels built to last. For the price, it is an easy 5-star buy.
I have the ReelUp HS X6 Elite Baitcaster on a medium rod and it has been a blast so far. Super easy to dial in the brakes and tension, and once it is set it launches baits with very little effort. Casts everything from 3/8 to 1 oz without a fuss and the spool starts up quickly with no weird noises or grinding.
The drag feels strong and consistent and the handle has a nice solid feel with no wobble. Overall it is a smooth, compact reel that fishes way above its price tag. I am honestly impressed and would not hesitate to buy another one.
Purchased the 10K for offshore fishing. It is large for a 10K. Have been using it for a week and have had no issues bringing in multiple 35-60lb fish without issue. Will see how it holds up against heavier fish, but seems to be built really well. I also like being able to toggle the switch to let line out without opening the bail. Definitely happy with the purchase.
As a self proclaimed "reel geek" I was hesitant to purchase one of these reels even after the outstanding reviews and specs. I decided to give it a shot and WOW am I impressed!!! Really solid feeling, smooth, great drag and the line lay is awesome!! I have the 3000 size and have caught many 35+ inch snook!! DEFINITELY recommend if you don't mind a reel on the heavier side compared to Daiwa and Shimano. I have it spooled with 15lb j-braid grand and put it on a tsunami Forged inshore rod for a perfect match!!!
I am impressed by the amount of durability and lightweight this is. It's smooth to operate and reel in big fishes without any problem, I've caught a 20lb with this before. It's not as noisy as my other ones. Overall the reel is well-made and currently my favorite one.
Really impressed with this reel. The ambidextrous power handle feels great in the hand, and the larger knob gives you plenty of grip when you're working bigger fish. Mine arrived well-packed in a nice gift box, which was a pleasant surprise.
Out of the box, the reel feels smooth and solid just slightly on the tighter side, but in a good new gear way. When you spin the handle, it goes about two full turns on its own. Not a huge deal, but worth mentioning for anyone who compares reels that free-spin 5+ revolutions. In actual use, the retrieve feels clean, tight, and controlled.
I picked up the 4000 size for targeting larger catfish on a 7 ft setup, and it's exactly what I was hoping for. Great build quality for the price, and it definitely feels like a reel made to work.
I now own two of these reels. I put the 2000 size on my ultralight setup and liked it so much that I bought the 3000 size when I needed another reel. The smoothness is unreal - one turn of the handle and the spool keeps spinning on its own. The build feels solid, the drag is responsive, and for the price it is honestly one of the best values I have picked up in a long time. Great reel all around.
Smooth reel overall and really easy to switch from right-hand to left-hand.
Just a heads-up - the small washer behind the handle wanted to stay inside when I swapped sides, so keep an eye on it because it can pop out pretty easily.
Other than that, the reel feels great. Super smooth retrieve, solid metal body, and the tapered spool should cast far. I'm spooling it with 8 lb braid and pairing it with an ultralight crappie rod for some fun with largemouth ?? and maybe even a little light inshore saltwater.
So far, feels like a strong value reel.
For the price, this reel is honestly a fantastic buy. I've been seeing more of these lightweight, high-speed reels showing up around North Florida, so I figured I'd give this one a shot. Glad I did.
So far I've put it through a pretty solid mix a couple 2-3 ft bonnethead sharks, some good-sized blue cats, and a handful of random inshore species and the reel has handled all of it smoothly with zero hiccups. The drag feels strong and responsive right out of the box, and the magnesium body keeps everything feeling light but surprisingly powerful.
If I had to point out one thing, I'd say the drag is the part I'll be keeping my eye on long-term, just because lighter reels usually wear there first. But honestly, at this price point, even getting a few good years out of it would still make it a huge value.
Right now, I'd absolutely recommend it whether you're a beginner wanting a smooth starter setup or an experienced angler looking for a lightweight, fast, fun replacement rig. It punches way above its weight.
